Dr. Martinez has a diverse practice which focuses on the treatment of chemical and behavioral addictions. A coveted speaker, he has presented at many national and international conferences, addressing the issues of marijuana, mental health, and Cultural Psychiatry. Trained in Addiction Psychiatry at UCLA, Dr. Martinez is respected as a leader of cutting-edge treatments in the field. His approach to therapy involves non-judgmental listening, framed with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy.


Dr. Martinez is a graduate of Harvard University and completed medical school at the U-C, San Diego, School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Psychiatry and completed his residency through the UCLA San Fernando Valley Program, before pursuing additional clinical training in Addiction Psychiatry from the UCLA-Neuropsychiatric Institute.
